The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a mid-sized, wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner under development by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It will seat 210 to 330 passengers, depending on variant. Boeing states that it will be the company’s most fuel-efficient airliner and the world’s first major airliner to use composite materials for most of its construction.

Its development has involved a large-scale collaboration with numerous suppliers.
On January 28, 2005, the aircraft’s initial designation 7E7 was changed to 787.Early released concept images depicted a radical design with highly curved surfaces. On April 26, 2005, a year after the launch of the program, the final and more conventional external 787 design was set.
Boeing featured its first 787 in a roll-out ceremony on July 8, 2007, at its Everett assembly factory, by which time it had become the fastest-selling wide-body airliner in history with nearly 600 orders. By December 2009, 851 Boeing 787s had been ordered by 56 customers.
The aircraft was originally scheduled to enter service in May 2008, but production had been delayed multiple times, and in August 2009, the scheduled service entry date was pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2010. The aircraft’s maiden flight, originally planned for August 2007, took place on December 15, 2009 at Boeing Field in southern Seattle.

Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company is an American insurance company based in Columbia, South Carolina (USA). It was founded in 1937 and incorporated as Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company (the legal name to this day)

in 1939. The company was bought by Unum in 1993, which was subsequently bought by Provident in 1999 (they merged to become UnumProvident, of which Colonial is a subsidiary). Currently, Colonial operates in 49 states and the District of Columbia. While it supports business sold in Puerto Rico, it no longer sells there.
The brand identity is Colonial Life, and the company’s tag line is “Making Benefits Count”.
History
Edwin F. Averyt got the idea for Colonial Life in 1929 from a former college classmate who was having great success selling small accidental death policies for a very low premium. From its beginning as the Mutual Accident Company in 1937 — with its single product, a $1,000 accidental death insurance policy that sold for $3 a year — Colonial Life has taken the road less traveled.
The company’s first sales force consisted of about 50 women, most of them housewives with no previous business experience. Within two decades, Colonial Life pioneered the field of worksite marketing by selling insurance to people at their jobs and deducting the premiums from their paychecks — a concept that changed the insurance marketplace forever.
The company continued to lead the industry in the ’80s and ’90s with two more dramatic innovations: marketing products through flexible benefits programs that allowed employees to purchase insurance on a tax-favored basis, and the development of advanced sales automation technology deployed to a nationwide independent contractor sales organization through laptop computers. Custom-built for Colonial Life’s business and seamlessly integrated into everything the company does, this technology forever changed the face of benefit enrollments.
Colonial Life’s visionary tradition has extended to its own employees, too: the company was one of the first in South Carolina to create an onsite wellness center and build a culture where employee health and fitness is a priority.
More recently, the company is paving the way again as the employee benefits industry moves away from a product-driven, spreadsheet-focused approach to more consumer choice emphasizing benefits education and value. Helping make this possible is another innovation: the new, state-of-the-art Harmony enrollment system.
Change has been a constant on Colonial Life’s path to success. But the company’s vision has remained focused on helping working Americans understand and appreciate the benefits they have available to them through the workplace, and in doing so helping employers build stronger businesses.

Its principal subsidiary,

Continental Casualty Company (CCC) was founded in 1897. CNA celebrated its centennial in 1997. CNA (the parent company) was incorporated in 1967.
Continental Assurance Company of North America was founded in Detroit in 1897. The purpose of the company was to provide accident and health insurance to railroad industry employees. This company then merged with the Metropolitan Accident Company, changed its name to the Continental Casualty Company, and moved to Chicago.
The National Fire Insurance Company was acquired in 1956, and in the 1963 the American Casualty Company was acquired. The first letters of each of the original companies were merged to form the acronym CNA. It was then referred to as the Continental National American Group, now it simply goes by CNA.
On January 1, 2004, CNA sold its Group Benefits division to The Hartford, based in Hartford, Connecticut. The Hartford merged its new purchase with its own Group Benefits Division. With the sale of this division came the end of CNA’s long history as a multi line insurer.
The primary business focus of CNA is to provide commercial property and casualty insurance to businesses and professionals. CNA markets its products and services primarily through independent agents and brokers.
CNA itself is 89% owned by a holding company, Loews. This holding company also has interests in offshore oil and gas drilling rigs, natural gas transmission pipelines, tobacco, and in hotel operations.
